A male patient said to me, “I’ve been flossing more. Can you tell?”
“Well,” I reply cautiously, “how much more?” because honestly, he appeared to have just as much bleeding and inflammation as every other time I’ve seen him over the past 10 years.
“I’d say at LEAST 10% more,” he replied. Then he kinda smiled and said, “That’s probably not enough, huh?”
I thought for a moment and said, “If you went to the carwash and washed 10% of your car, would that be enough for it to look clean?”
I saw the light bulb go off in his mind. “Point taken. I’ll do BETTER.”
That’s all I can hope for, sir.
