A lesson in determination

As we worked out in the yard this weekend, we took some chairs out to enjoy some shade every now and then, as it got pretty stinking hot. I cracked up watching Luby wrestle her chair back into its carrying bag. I offered to help – she said, “No, I can get it.” And she did …. but it sure was a hoot to watch.
If pictures could talk, this is what I think she’d be saying:
“Are you sure this fits?”
“ok, if you say so….”
“how do I get it in there?”
“like this?”
“I know, maybe like this….”
“Or… well…. maybe not?”
“oh yeah, I’m doing it, I’m doing it”
“Come on! Why won’t you go in there??”
“Yeah! Almost got it now.”
“Almost. Got. It.”
“Yippee!”
“Whew! That was HARD!”
“What do you mean – now carry it to the garage??”
“I’m going.”
“But I’m sure not happy about it.”
“Really? All the way to the garage??”
“Hi Dad. Moms making me carry this all the way to the garage. Don’t you feel sorry for me?”
Splat.
Dude… what happened?
“Hi honey” says Mr. Lucky. “I’m up, I’m up …” says Luby.
“I’m never doing this again.”
