Before and After

Remember last summer when I went on a wild painting streak and did Luby’s room, (you can read about it here and here)? I also painted the old mix-matched furniture in Beebo’s room, in anticipation of actually painting her room too. Of course, by the time I finished all the furniture and Luby’s room, I was too tired to start on Beebo’s and it was time for school to start back again. Once that happened, I put it off and put it off… until this past weekend.
Now, I am happy to report: It is done. 
After some digging through photo files, we found some pictures of how her room looked a few years ago:
She picked the purple walls when we first moved in five years ago. My sister Lena and I thought the solid darker purple was just too much, so we lightened it up by using a lighter shade on the upper part of the wall. It was cute and she loved it. But…. after five years, it’s time for an update, right?

Just getting all that old ugly furniture updated with a fresh coat of paint and new satin-nickel hardware was a major improvement! I felt bad that I ran out of steam to finish painting her room before school started back. So when she asked for her room to be done this year, I couldn’t refuse.
We looked and looked at colors and finally, she decided on “Sky Green”, which is a sort of limey-green. I love the way it turned out. There is enough purple in the new bedding that we decided to keep the lavender curtains to tie it all together. It’s her room, and her choices…. but I really like it.
So……. drum roll please………………..eventually, we get to THIS:

Are you going to change out the desk chair? Or cover it, or take the cushions off and paint the frame? It doesn’t seem to fit the new room..not criticising, I love the whole look, can you come do my room? You see we have this huge king size leather bed…
