This much I know is true
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Nov 14th 2009
Right now, I’m off enjoying myself with Lena…. doing some Christmas shopping and feeling pretty good. But, earlier this week…. actually as recent as yesterday morning – I was a bit of an emotional wreck. There is really no good reason for it – this has just been a long week. We were on the [...]
Perfection
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Nov 8th 2009
Saturday was a perfectly beautiful day. We loaded up the dogs and went out to the lake for some walking around. It was fantastic. I’m so glad we were able to get out and enjoy it.
He’s the Man
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Nov 6th 2009
When I travel out of town for work, I always bring home something for my daughters. Usually a t-shirt from the place I’ve been and sometimes something else, also. The girls love it and can’t wait to see for me to unpack so they can find out what treat they got! I try to find [...]
Fifteen years and counting
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Sep 10th 2009
Dear Mr. Lucky, It’s hard to believe it’s been FIFTEEN YEARS since we stood in front of our family and friends, in the presence of our Lord, and exchanged our vows of commitment to each other. Seriously…. how did it fly by so fast? Our marriage has sometimes been a bumpy road, full of potholes [...]
Sexisms Suck
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Jul 17th 2009
Have you ever heard someone near and dear to you say something that takes you by complete surprise because it’s totally out of character for that person? In a recent discussion with Mr. Lucky, he was complaining about being asked to cover two days a week at some of the other company clinics while they [...]

This girl is too old for all-nighters
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Jun 29th 2009
You’ve heard the expression, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him about your plans.” I believe it. For the past fifteen years my husband has organized and presented at a continuing education meeting for coaches. (It’s officially called a Sports Medicine Symposium) He recruits all the speakers and does a lot of the [...]
Un-Father’s Day
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Jun 21st 2009
This Father’s Day, we find ourselves in Texarkana, Arkansas in a surprisingly beautiful and BIG room at a newly opened Best Western. (Big as in – we wouldn’t even have to rearrange to fit in the air mattress so that 6 of us can share a room as we did in San Antonio when Shannon [...]
Camping for beginners
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Jun 3rd 2009
There is definitely something that borders on awesome to find yourself in the quiet of nature, with nothing but chirping crickets and tree frogs making noise and the bright star-lit sky overhead. It’s the hours of preparing (finding your camping gear from years gone by, purchasing new camping gear to replace the lost items or [...]
Hands
Dory @ Lucky Dorito on May 18th 2009
Isn’t it amazing to stop and think of all the things you use your hands for during any given day? You touch doorknobs and hairbrushes and dishtowels and soap. You sort laundry, you fold clothes, you put them away in the drawers. You cook dinner, set tables, and do dishes. At work, you answer phones [...]
