Can you say YIKES!!!!

I opened the front door the other night and found this girl had been busy building a web from the bottom of the wreath all the way across the width of the glass screen door and anchored to the bottom frame of the door. After my initial frightened bug dance, I realized she was on the outside of the glass and I was on the inside. Which, in my world, means…. “grab my camera!!!”

The web was huge and so intricate. I wish I could have gotten an image that showed it but the lighting was kinda stinky. I’d like to say that I was brave and got rid of her. But….. I just closed the door and left her out there, workin’ away. I checked the next morning and the  web was gone. Evidently she is one of those spiders that rebuilds a new one each night. I think she might have been sleeping in the wreath during the day but I didn’t really want to know that badly to check it, for fear she’d fall on me.

I got sick right after that and haven’t left the house (barely left the bed!) except for a visit to the doctor. Guess I’ll see if she’s out there tonight.
