I find in my life...when it comes to situations like these...when it rains, it pours. It's always a little scary wondering what else might be around the corner.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

I am sorry that so many people you know or friends of friends are experiencing such hard times lately. I will include them in my prayers also.

Remember when Shannon asked all of us to send her our prayer requests when she was the proctor for the standardized tests? She was going to use her time in intercessory prayer? I always thought that was such a wonderful, giving expression of friendship and faith. You praying for all of these people you don't know is extremely kind and faithful as well.

With my new job, I try to do that a lot. It is so quiet and with no other sound than the monitors, I can pray and pray and pray. I've made it a habit to always pray for the patient first and then I go down the list of people in my head - several times a morning! (I also listen and watch the monitors. So please don't think I just sit there with my hands folded and my eyes closed while I am supposed to be watching the patient!)

I love the pictures of Chicago you shared - I can picture myself standing exactly where you are in each of them. We were there once on St Pat's day and the river was green. We took a little boat ride on the river and then out onto Lake Michigan that year. Chicago is such a fun place!

There's no place like home though!
Wish the girls good luck with their first day of school!

I do the same thing, praying while I'm working. You know, my hands in are their mouth - it's not like we have a lot of conversation going on most of the time. After discussing the patients dental needs and medical history, I often fall silent as I work and my mind wanders back to prayers. I think this is an area where women are particularly blessed - with the ability to multi-task. I am quite capable of doing my work while I'm thinking of something else (except I have to keep my eyes open, of course!) Thank you for such a thoughtful comment, Jen.

I carry those same sort of thought in my heart for many people in our "little" community- our friend's funeral yesterday, the 34 yo single mom with Stage 4 colon cancer, the 10 yo with leukemia, the 19 yo double amputee from a car wreck- but God is faithful.
Wow~ that is really early for school to start! Sam goes back on Wed & I thought that was a little soon :-s

I hate when summer comes to an end. I also love the freedom of summer. No schedules, no homework, carefree days of not even watching the time.

I will remember your friends in pray also. Let us know if you hear anything.

Can't wait for the update about Suki and what is going on with the whole move option.

Wow! When it rains, it pours... :o( I'll keep them in my prayers too!

I can't believe you start school so early! WOW! N starts school next Thursday, but the ROTC group he's in leaves for Nationals (for drill team) the next day, so he have the first couple of days off from school. A's school doesn't start until Sept. 2!!! She's pumped that she gets such a late start. lol

What sad stories swirling around in your sweet head. I am the same way- some stories- from people I don't even know- cause me to lay awake at night and pray for them. I truly believe those people coming to our minds often is God's way of telling us they need our prayers. I am praying for all of those you mentioned this morning and most especially for you my sweet friend. I love you!

Tell Beebo and Luby to have a fabulous first day of school! I am praying for them too! :)
