Friday Five

In an effort to overlook my earlier plea for prayer until the point at which I can clearly discuss WHAT the heck is up around here… I’ve decided to focus on the silver linings of the week.
- My husband and I are together, out of town, with our girls this weekend. He is attending a continuing education course while the girls and I have no particular plans - just to be here, together. (There might be shopping and swimming involved though! Woo-stinkin-hoo!)
- Regardless of the HIGH level of stress that’s been ever-present this week - I am thankful for all the hours my husband and I have spent in deep discussion. We’ve been married nearly 14 years and it’s so easy to forget how much we loved *talking* to each other in the early days. Nowadays, instead - we spend all our time focused on our jobs and our kids and all the normal everyday factors of life…. and rarely get the opportunity to just talk. What a blessing it has been.
- My young daughters are forever making me laugh - often to the point of snorting! I can always count on them to keep the humor alive and fresh in our lives!
- Getting to see the big ole’ grin on my childs’ face when she used her OWN money to purchase a guitar this week - something she’s been BEGGING for - and it is now hers…. bought with her own hard-earned chore money. Sweet!
- A fabulous book to take my mind off of stress.
Thanks, Stacy!

Guinieon 18 Jul 2008 at 10:31 pm 2Still praying. Hubby-Wife talking time is the greatest, isn’t it? When M and I make time to sit down and talk about…well, anything…we always somehow manage to start getting silly and making one another laugh until we hurt…OR we end up dreaming together. A husband and wife need to know how to laugh together and dream together. I’m glad you’re having a good time as a family unit! :o)
Thank you. It was just what we needed.
Stacyon 20 Jul 2008 at 8:17 am 3Your welcome, but not sure which book it is right now.
Thank you for #2. Perhaps that is what is needed around here.
*Plain Truth* by Jodi Picoult. It was fabulous!
