Halloween Memories

pumpkin

Do you remember your favorite Halloween costume as a child? Or as in my case, any of your costumes as a child?

I honestly don’t remember any of my costumes except one.  (Sad, huh?) One year my sisters and I all dressed up as old fat men. We wore mens’ shirts with ties and mens’ pants – but the best part… we stuffed pillows down the front to give us *over-stuffed beer bellies* and even pillows in the back to give us some *junk in the trunk*. We waddled around all night, laughing ourselves silly. It was such fun! (Lena – do you remember that?)

Your turn – tell me your favorite costume memory. :)

Now, since we’re talking about Halloween – let’s play *Name that Jack-o-lantern* this week! Send me (luckydorito@gmail.com) a photo of your pumpkin, whether it’s whole, carved or painted…. just as long as it’s the one on your porch this weekend. Send your photo by Thursday October 29th for posting on Friday, October 30th. We’ll try to guess who’s is who’s!

*Update – Since my first two commenters don’t do Jack-o-lanterns, let’s change it up to photos of whatever your Halloween decorations might be – an arrangement on the table, a child-crafted skeleton on your front door (my girls did one of these one year – I think it’s all I managed to get out that year) or whatever that spells Halloween at your house. (In my case, if I don’t get busy, it might be nothing but a picture of the bowl of candy for giving out. lol)*

My favorite Halloween costume was a salad. My friend was soup and we won 1st prize. My mom was SO crafty- it was adorable. Wonder if I have a picture of it somewhere- I’ll have to look!

    I don’t have a pumpkin on my porch. :(

We will get home on the 29th and no pumpkin on our porch, either.

Our tradition in our family (Matt & I) is the carmel apple! We start making them as soon as the first cool breeze of autumn comes. We started dating in the month of October and started getting a carmel apple to share at the mall when we would go to the movies. Now at the mall nearby there is a candy store that makes all different kinds of apple desserts- we always stop by when we are at the mall and relive our early dating days :)

Since my mum is a nurse, more than once I put on her scrubs and went as a dr/nurse. I used to lovce to be hobo also. Probably just the thought of running away that I loved…lol
