Halloween Thirteen

!3 Random Moments of my week:
- A patient said to me, “You know, my mouth SHOULD be bigger because of how much I talk, shouldn’t it?” LOL I could only laugh in response - because based on that logic - I know a LOT of people that should have bigger mouths. (Myself included!)
- Luby was retested for allergies this week… the kid is ALLERGIC to everything! Poor girl… no wonder she can’t breathe half the time.
- I don’t remember any of the three new toilets in our house clogging up since they were installed. But… me, myself, and I have somehow managed to clog TWO of them just THIS WEEK. What does that mean? Too much roughage in my diet??
- I have eaten entirely too much candy this week. And, I haven’t even BOUGHT any for tomorrow night yet!
- I have been trying to decide what color to paint my downstairs bathroom all week. I have several paint chips and just can’t decide! I never have THIS much trouble. But… come heck or high water, I’m painting Saturday! I better get my arse in gear and make a decision, huh? Any suggestions?
- I’m soooo stinkin tired of the political ads. Can’t. wait. for. it. to. be. over.
- I joined a book club with Becca. I know it’ll be fun but lawsie mercy…. I sure picked a BUSY week to do it. What was I thinking?? (I’m loving the book though!)
- I took Lillie’s sutures out of her ear the other day…. it is healing nicely. A little lumpy but I expect that to smooth out over time. She acts like she misses the lovely lampshade.
- I ran into a male patient at WalMart the other day. He saw me from a distance and called out, “Hey! You look different in clothes!” As people turned to look at me - I realized exactly HOW that must have sounded to others. My face got hot, turning 10 shades of red, as I said, “Well, I’m always WEARING clothes!” He too got embarrassed and said, “You know what I meant!” lol
- I must buy new jeans. Strict orders from Shannon, who saw holes in the last pair I had on. (Which happen to be my FAVORITE pair actually!) Do you know how much I hate to shop for jeans? Good thing I can make her go with me…
- I’ve been finishing up the girls Halloween costumes. Too funny…. can’t wait to post that pic!
- My husband has to cover a ballgame since Halloween falls on a Friday night. That means that I have to drive the girls around to all the people we visit each year. Me, behind the wheel. After dark. When I can’t see very well. With hundreds of kids in the streets. Ya’ll say a prayer for me.
- Daylight savings time ends this weekend.
I hate winter time. (Oh yeah, I said I didn’t use the word the hate!)

Shannonon 30 Oct 2008 at 12:42 pm 1You CRACK me up! I can’t wait to see the girls costumes AND go shopping for jeans WITH you- in person and NOT on the phone like we normally do. If you wait to paint till next week, I’ll help you with that too!
Doryon 30 Oct 2008 at 12:48 pm 2You are so not helping me paint. Labsolutely NOT. That will be done BEFORE you get here….
Chrison 30 Oct 2008 at 12:52 pm 3#9 cracked me up! I’d love to have heard that as I walked to/from my car.
And have a great visit with Shannon! Let her help paint. Good bonding time…
Katon 30 Oct 2008 at 12:54 pm 4What is up with all you winter haters? I love non-daylight savings time! I hate jeans too but Hubby made me buy some this past weekend, he thought I was ‘too old’ for the holy ones - whatever…
Doryon 30 Oct 2008 at 1:48 pm 5Maybe if I lived in Texas, I wouldn’t mind it so much. But here, it’s too dark in the mornings to walk outside before work so I’m stuck on the treadmill and it’s already dark again when I get off work at 5pm. What is there to like about that??? Coats, hats, gloves… yuck.
Bring on the sunshine and summer-like weather!
megon 30 Oct 2008 at 1:54 pm 6Jeans shopping- ugh! I need to do it too- especially before next weekend, or somebody might think I’m poor white trash
What color is the hallway & nearest community room to the bathroom?
Doryon 30 Oct 2008 at 2:01 pm 7OH Meg, we can be poor white trash together then!! Then neither of us will have to subject ourselves to jeans shopping!
The hallway is a neutral taupe-y color. It’s nearest to the den, (see it here: http://luckydorito.com/the-den ) that I just painted a few months ago, which is a terra cotta color.
Shannonon 30 Oct 2008 at 2:56 pm 8LOL Meg you are too funny! I could care less what kind of jeans you girls wear.
And for the record, I did NOT tell Dory she needed new jeans- I just asked her whose holey jeans were in the picture she sent me!:)
Doryon 30 Oct 2008 at 3:44 pm 9Me thinks I’m not the only one with memory issues Shan.
hehehe
mitchowlon 30 Oct 2008 at 5:26 pm 10That’s a lot of stuff going on. I’m sure you’ll figure it all out.
Jenon 30 Oct 2008 at 7:25 pm 11I bought new jeans yesterday! Now, I have two pair that are suitable.
The rest of my jeans have holes in them or paint/bleach on them. My yucky ones are the most comfy ~ I was so mad at myself the day I decided to do “touch up” painting in them. They are Old Navy jeans I got for $20. They fit me perfectly. Wish I would have bought every pair they had in my size. Same goes with bras… when I find one I really like, I should just buy every single one in my size ’cause heaven knows I will never find that particular style again.
I like earth tones/spa colors in bathrooms. What about a nice Mediterranean greenish color? Our living room in our old house was a really nice green… I think it was cactus-something-or-another. Not much help, am I?
The time change is fine by me. I enjoy evenings when I can be in my jammies right after supper with a good book in the comfort of my squishy bed. Also, I LOVE to sleep. I practically hibernate in the wintertime! Lucky for me, Garrett never fusses about going to bed.
I hate to wish my life away, but oh how I wish it was this time next week!
BEKon 30 Oct 2008 at 7:40 pm 12Shannon you’re right we could all paint our favorite colors on different walls! Now, that would be a painted bathroom.
BEKon 30 Oct 2008 at 7:41 pm 13OOH OHH this is the thirteenth comment for the Halloween Thirteen post!
Beccaon 30 Oct 2008 at 7:51 pm 14I don’t own any jeans.
I am glad that you are enjoying the book. Oh yeah, you get to recommend the next book, or that is what I suggested anyway.
Clogging the toilet, eh, crap happens!
Could be worse, you could have come across a link on a computer you really wish you hadn’t. Yep, one of those days, and a true kick to my self esteem.
Oh well, it is married life is it not, for better or worse.
Love you friend,
Bec
Stacyon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:36 am 15I thought I was the only one that dreaded shopping for jeans. Especially when you are heavy, they are hard to find. I have one pair and wish I too had a few more of the exact same type.
Love #9 also….Hahaha
As far as painting, why don’t you throw a few swatches up on the wall and see which looks best. Oh you alread have…Hmmm, Maybe you could share the colors with us and we can help pick.
