Holy Smokes!

We are not the kind of people that trade cars often.

Hardly ever, actually. So rarely, in fact, that it is a BIG deal for me when we do!

My beloved 1995 Nissan Quest, purchased in 1997 with about 20k miles on it was driven and driven…. I jokingly said I would drive it until the wheels fell off. I didn’t know how close to accurate that would end up being twelve years and 180 thousand miles later.

It’s been through two babies and car seats, two dogs (three part of the time while I dogsat for my brother-in-law’s English Bulldog one summer) eleven trips to the beach (at 1200 miles a pop), one trip to Texas last summer (at nearly 2000 miles), one weekend bloggers get-together, hundreds of trips over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s house, and hundreds upon hundreds of trips to Wal-Mart.

Yesterday, that all came to an end when my trusty ole’ Quest van was finally traded in for a new one. Well, new to us, anyway. A 2007 Honda Odyssey is now parked in my driveway. I pray that it lasts as long and runs as well as its predecessor.
