I sure smell something “fishy”

We went to “Broadway on the Beach” while on vacation last week. That is where Build-a-Bear was, plus about a zillion other stores. It is a mall of sorts, build around a lake (? or… pond? I don’t know, exactly) with several bridges that you can walk across to get from side to side as you desire.

Every 12 feet or so across the bridge are glass-filled fish food dispensers, like a gum-ball machine, but you put a quarter in and get back a hand full of fish pellets (that looked like dog food, if you ask me). The girls wanted to feed the fish, of course… so when they tossed it in – the fish came from EVERYWHERE! Holy moly… there was a BUNCH of them. I was so surprised…. I have about a 15 sec little video for ya to see for yourself. My battery was about out in the camera so I had to just do get a little bit of the fish…. in case something MORE exciting was just around the bend. :)

That is scary how many come to call when the food bell is rung so to speak! Wow! I wonder if it is the Pavlov’s dog response, they have become so used to being fed that is all that they know to do, whether they are hungry or not?

    Hugs,
    Becca

I definitely think it’s a *Pavlov’s dog* response Becca… they couldn’t possibly be THAT hungry! Not with all the people feeding them all day long!

If you ever get up my way, I have got to take you to the link above. The girls would love it.

All I could think of while watching this was pirahnas on a feeding frenzy. Gave me chills even if they are just perch or another non-human-eating fish!
