I’m not a steel magnolia

Posted by Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Every time my sweet friend Shannon and I plan a visit together, we spend weeks counting down the days until it’s time. So excited to be together, even if only for a brief time. Of course, since our daughters enjoy being together also, that makes it so much more fun!

Sadly, as with any long anticipated event, be it a vacation or a visit from your closest friend, it inevitably zips by in the blink of an eye. One minute she’s arriving amidst hugs and hellos, and the next she is leaving in the dark light of early morning.

And I tell ya, there is nothing worse than watching them drive away when the week has reached it’s end. I am saddened  beyond belief. I know our next visit will be right around the corner but…. I feel like there is a giant hole in my heart right now.

I have so much to blog about but I just can’t do it yet.

I know exactly what that is like. Whenever I visit my entire family in Wisconsin, I always hate leaving them behind. One of the down sides to living so darn far from them.
