It’s a door? Really?

I’ll get back to showing you tidbits of the kitchen but… I thought I’d show you bits and pieces of the conversation room.
That’s what you’d call a room that you can sit down and relax in… without the presence of a television. Because you know what happens when there’s no tv? There is conversation!
The first night Shannon had arrived, we found ourselves sitting in the newly painted den, which was pretty much a blank slate. White brick, a yummy oatmeal color on the walls and some blue/yellow furniture. Actually, it wasn’t pretty much a blank slate…. it WAS a blank slate.
We talked about how the furniture lent itself to a beachy-shabby chic kind of look. Before you know it, ideas were beginning to form in our minds. We were up bright and early the next morning, scouring town for things to go in the room.
While looking around, we found this old door. We decided it would look fabulous hanging on the wall. Mr. Lucky was rather dubious… and still might be a little bit. But I love it!
We also decided to paint this old window frame that I’d had for ever and a day:

And turn it into this little beauty:
That could be considered going green, right? Re-purposing items for the greater good. Sure beats them ending up in a landfill somewhere.
