Jerry ROCKS!

Holy cow! If you’re a fan of the Biggest Loser, you had to have been jumping with joy last night as the oldest contestant in seven seasons won the $100k from the group that had been eliminated throughout the season but went home and continued to lose weight. Jerry lost an incredible 177 pounds, ending with a weight of 192 when he started out at 369 lbs – most of it lost at home, all at age 64.
I was thrilled for him! If a 64 year old man can do it – surely anyone can! I don’t know Jerry but…. I’m bursting with pride for him! It sure makes me wonder how I can go through life with this pesky 20 – 25 pounds hanging around.
I’ve followed the show all season, so it wasn’t a big surprise to have both Tara and Mike in the finals – Helen was more of a surprise. Well, the first few weeks, I wouldn’t have thought it would come down to her as one of the three – but she sure managed to keep dropping the pounds. And… then, she WON! I was really rooting for Tara or Mike to win but the scale doesn’t lie.
I guess I should point out that it doesn’t hurt each season I get to see Bob. He’s quite the cutie-patootie. I just love Bob.
The Biggest Loser always inspires me.

Tracieon 13 May 2009 at 7:10 am 1Oh NO! I haven’t watched it yet! We were out last night so we DVR’d it. I knew if I kept reading I would ruin it for myself…..but I couldn’t stop. Now I gotta go tell hubby that I know who the winners are! I’m so happy that Jerry did it! When he got eliminated I just thought he wouldn’t make it. Good for him!!! & I was hoping that Tara or Helen would win and not Mike. Mike should be proud of his accomplishments, but I wanted one of the girls to win!! Yea!!!
Chrison 13 May 2009 at 7:23 am 2I think you have Jerry’s numbers reversed. He lost 177 to weigh in at 192. But either way, it was amazing – especially since he was on campus for only 2 weeks and passed out at one point! I felt bad for Aubrey that she wasn’t able to continue her weight loss at home but am encouraged that she’s not gaining. David was almost a non-contestant. He had only one week on the ranch and retained almost none of the training he received. I hope his friend Daniel will be the inspiration and model he looks to. But Helen losing 30lbs since her days on the ranch were incredible! I didn’t think she had it to lose! Tara and Mike didn’t either. What a finish! Everyone w/in 2% of each other. And Mike losing an AMAZING 207lbs! Everyone looked awesome!
This was clearly the most enjoyable season we’ve watched! Not just because of weight lost, but because of the lives that were changed on campus and in their respective families and communities. What an inspiration for me to ditch that 40lbs that doggin’ me!
Doryon 13 May 2009 at 8:11 am 3You’re right Chris – had my numbers reversed. I’ve changed it now so it reads correctly. Thanks
Shannonon 13 May 2009 at 8:37 am 4YOU love Bob? NO way? I had NO idea!
Doryon 13 May 2009 at 8:40 am 5@ Shannon – hehehe I added that in there just for YOU!
Muffyon 13 May 2009 at 10:07 am 6I put off losing that last 10 lbs I wanted to lose by vacation. Only 18 days until vacation. Don’t think that’s gonna happen! : )
Thotladyon 13 May 2009 at 10:59 am 7I wanted Tara to win also. It looks like Helen went all out and hired a personal trainer for her ‘at home’ portion of the show. I guess when there is $250,000 at stake you can’t afford not to hire a trainer.
They all looked great, although there were a few that didn’t lose as much as the others.
I felt bad for Mike’s brother. They kept showing him in the audience. It must be tough to see how much weight Mike and his dad have lost and he still has the weight problem. Hopefully Mike and Ron can help him achieve what they have…for his health and happiness.
Jenon 13 May 2009 at 3:48 pm 8I felt like Tara deserved it most, since she won nearly every challenge. My favorite contestant of them all was Kristin. I was so sad when she got the boot.
And I LOVE Bob. Jillian scares me and would have me in tears the entire time if she was my trainer.
