Jolly Green Giant Stairs

When I was a little girl, my mom told me that these giant walls of rock that were cut out for the roads to go through were actually stair steps for the Jolly Green Giant to use. (This particular picture is just one step, whereas sometimes the steps are two or three levels high, cut just like stairs in the mountainside.)
So when I see them, even after ALL these years, I still think of him… the Jolly Green Giant.
I love the icicles, they really are kinda cool looking along the walls. (Another stop I made on my way to pick up Lena last weekend – photos of the icicle walls!)
