Kitchen Tidbits

In July when Shannon and Madison came to visit, she worked HARD helping me in redo my kitchen. (We also decorated another room that was a blank slate… more on that later.) Yes, the doorless kitchen cabinets have DOORS now! (Well, I had the doors. They were just stacked under the bed in the guest room instead of actually ON the cabinets.)
Sidenote: In case you’re thinking HUH? I’ll explain. When we moved to this house 5 years ago, everything in the kitchen was white. I hated it! So I took the cabinet doors off to paint the cabinets and then…. couldn’t find the hinges that I wanted so I just got frustrated and quit looking. Of course, I was doing 97 other things to the house too, plus a new backsplash and floor in the kitchen…. all was sort of happening at the same time. Not only did I get frustrated with the hinge situation… but I just got tired. And out of money. So a small break from the house turned into…. well, 5 years.)
My sister Lena came for a few days too. I am soooo glad, because I don’t know if Shannon and I could have finished without her help!
We painted cabinets, cabinet doors, and the walls. And assorted other goodies, which I’ll be showing you over the coming days.
So we went from this:
