Name that…. Favorite Non-Cuss Word
Posted by Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009
First off, let me say a big THANK YOU to Stacy for suggesting this weeks game – what a great idea!
We all have *words* that we use when we’re trying to not say a wordy-dirty, right?
It’s funny how the words tend to be *regional* at times, also.
My friend, Qualcoso di Bello from Piacere
says that when she moved to the south she started saying *Sugar!*
(I’ve been guilty of saying that one myself too.)
Another friend of mine, Ms. Kitty says *holy, free holy*.
(which cracks me up)
(Girls I couldn’t add them to the guessing list since you posted them in the comments – sowwy)
Below is the list of favorite non-cuss words… some of them were sent by more than one person, so I suppose if you can get at least ONE of those right, I’ll count it as correct.
Please send me your guesses via email as soon as you can – I’d like to post the answers on Friday, if possible.
* * * * *
1. Fudge
2. Crunched
3. Friggen’
4. Great googly moogly
5. CHILD, PLEASE
6. Craptastic
7. Son of a Biscuit!
8. Stink (three people submitted this word!)
9. Sweet Nibblets
10. Holy Moly Macarolli
11. Fudgesicles (two people submitted this word!)
12. For the Love of Pete
13. Geez o’Pete
14. Oh Bother
15. Crumbs
16. Seriously?
17. Oh Tartar Sauce
18. Seriously!
* * * * *
Match those crazy and fun words up with the following – you’ll use some of the names more than once:
Beebo
Giggles
and
What FUNNY words we use!!
Put your thinking caps on – you’re gonna need it this week!

Shannonon 09 Sep 2009 at 6:53 am 1Well good night nurse. How in the world am I going to guess who says what? I have no idea on the majority of these. Not a clue.
Chrison 09 Sep 2009 at 7:11 am 2Couldn’t even begin to guess, but I have a couple of observations:
- “O Bother” makes me think of Winnie the Pooh
- Someone has been hanging around Hannah Montana a little too much. Or maybe it’s the other way around…
- Why does Pete get the brunt of everything?
- There IS a difference between “Seriously!” and “Seriously?”
Looking forward to the answers!
Stacyon 09 Sep 2009 at 11:31 am 3Wow – we sure do say a lot of creative things. Will be sending my guesses along this evening.

megon 09 Sep 2009 at 1:51 pm 5I have to admit~ I’ve used more than one of these (son of a biscuit is a frequent utterance
)
I heard a new one (to me) the other week that stopped me up short- “Shut the front door!” And this from a church lady!
