Re-using what you have

I love spray paint! It makes life super simple when something in the house needs a face-lift. I was not a fan of the ugly gold light fixtures in my kitchen so…. I painted them! Here’s the first one:

Does that not just scream “I’M GORGEOUS”?!?!
Granted, a brand new light fixture would have been marginally better but I don’t think I could have gotten one for $3.97, the price of a can of paint. I’m happy with it just like this. And I LOVE the price! Not to mention, it’s more “green” to reuse it, instead of trashing it, right?

Jenon 03 Aug 2010 at 9:24 am 2Our light fixtures/drawer handles/towel rack/etc in the main bath was that awful gold too. I took them down and spray painted them a matte black and it sharpened and updated the room very inexpensively. Looks great! I love DIY projects!
