Lucky Dorito

We evidently came to Texas on a week of record high temperatures for this time of year, lucky us. Shannon mentioned earlier that this must be what it would feel like to be inside the clothes dryer. I think I concur.

We spent today taking a trolley (which actually turned out to be a bus) to the Alamo and walking around a while.

The girls were all excited about taking a trolly so when the bus rolled up, they were a little disappointed but they got over it when the saw the sideways seats. Obviously I have sheltered children – they’d only ever been on a big yellow school bus so the city bus was a novel event.

I had to take a picture of the seat dedicated to Rosa Parks. I guess I live a pretty sheltered life too – I didn’t know they had those.

I liked the round buildings along the Riverwalk area.

The Alamo is rich in history – but I tell ya, these trees absolutely blew me away. Gorgeous.

The girls were hot and couldn’t WAIT to get back to the pool.

After a quick question posed on Shannon’s facebook of suggestions on where to eat dinner, we ended up at Earl Able’s. It was a good meal… we even splurged on dessert. (Gonna have to wear stripes when I get home so they’ll know if I’m walking or rolling.)

Today, we’re off to the outlet malls in San Marcos. Woo-stinkin-hoo.

The first time Luby says “I’m tired, can we go back to the hotel?” which is code for “I want to SWIM” – I’m liable to wig out. She must have said that a million times at the Alamo! Sheesh.
