Sun, sand, and sweet

I know you must be getting tired of listening to me go on and on about being on vacation but holy moly! It’s AWESOME! lol
My hubby and I were sitting in chairs watching the waves and the girls play. I was reading, looking up from time to time. Just happy as a clam, of course. After a while, he said, “Honey, look at them”, pointing to our daughters.
Luby was sitting on the sand, using her shovel to dig in the sand right in front of her. Her legs, her arms, well - her WHOLE body was covered in sand. Every few scoops, she’d try to throw the sand into a pile and end up flinging half of it on her own head. (dork like her momma, huh?) The kid was covered in and and loving every minute. She saw us looking in her general direction and she threw up her hand and waved.
Beebo, meanwhile, was sitting nearby - on her boogie board, not directly on the sand. She too had her shovel and was digging but the only place she had sand was on her hands and her feet. She very delicately was making a pile and keeping it neat and tidy. She’s not afraid to get dirty but…. she is more careful then Luby, that’s for sure.
My hubby said, “Is that not exactly like their rooms? Luby’s got stuff everywhere and could care less and Beebo is so careful to NOT make a mess!” lol It’s true. Their rooms are JUST like that. I actually took pics of their bedrooms a week or two ago, planning to post them. One as neat as could be and one looking seriously like a tornado had tore through it and landed all the clothing out in the floor! Of course, after I saw the pics blown up on the computer - I changed my mind. Some little secrets are just too dirty to air in public. Literally.

Stacyon 04 Jun 2008 at 6:50 am 1Not sure that I would show pictures of my kids rooms either. Or mine for that matter. I try to keep up with the “public” areas of the house, but I fail miserably in the bedrooms. I can hardly yell at the boys for their rooms as mine is not the tidiest either.
Yep. It’s that whole “stashing” thing that gets us, huh?
thotladyon 04 Jun 2008 at 8:36 am 2It is amazing how siblings can be so different. When I was living at home, I had to share a room with my older sister who is not as neat as I am. (Boy has that changed). Anyway, I used to get so mad at her for making a mess and never making the bed that I would just make my half of the double bed we slept in. It looked so funny. She never did get the hint.
LOL I do believe they might kill each other if they had to share a room at my house!
Beccaon 04 Jun 2008 at 9:05 am 3Does one child take after you and one after dad? Is she generally more cautious in life in general? That is so curious, their different approaches at the same thing, but they are having fun and not bickering with each other, so love every moment of it!
Hugs,
~Becca
Oh… they do plenty of bickering… that’s for sure! And yes, one child is like me and one is like my husband. Guess which is which

I know … it’s been a long time, actually more like forever, but I’ve finally got around to visiting your site! Sounds like you’re having a fine time. I’m hoping to snatch a week with the kids in a few weeks time - of course it’s winter here in South Africa so it’s cold and rainy, but time with the kids is always good, no matter what the weather!
Take care, I’ll try and pop in more regularly.

Steve!! Oh my goodness! What a treat to see YOU by today!
Jenon 05 Jun 2008 at 6:10 am 5I’m so glad you are having fun on your vacation!!!
My kids are like day & night too…
LOL…. yeah, what is UP with that?
