Sunshine = Happy Me

Posted by Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I left home at the ridiculous hour of 5am Wednesday to drive the hour and a half to the airport. It was dark and rainy and fairly ICKY – and I didn’t even have the pleasure of a cup o’ joe with me. (For some STUPID reason, I figured if I waited to drink coffee when I got to the airport that I wouldn’t have to stop for a potty break. Turns out…. that didn’t help – still had to stop.)

Anyway – when I got to Austin, I collected my bag and headed out to a spot in the sunshine to wait for Shannon to arrive. It was about 82* and spectacular! It amazes me how quickly the bright blue sky and warmth of the sun absolutely calm my spirit. I sat there, face turned up to the sunlight, with my eyes closed and said, “Thank you Lord. This is exactly what I needed.” (And then I had a vision of someone walking off with my bag while my eyes were closed so I cut it short and opened them, not finding anyone lurking nearby.)

We ate lunch and then went to a matinee – before finally arriving at her house. I found this awaiting me in the guest room:

That’s a basket full of things that I love:

And this on the dresser:

Goodness gracious. Talk about some southern hospitality! I am quite sure I didn’t do this for her when she came to my house last November. :)

    Isn’t it great having someone who so “gets you?” so very happy for you both to get to share some face to face time together.
