The Den

So…. remember the other day when I painted the den and you were guessing colors? I finally remembered to take some pics…..
This room was once intended to be Suki’s room…. of course, she was in college when we bought this house so she never really used it. Last year when she got her own apartment, I gave her the bed and dresser that were in the room and it sat empty (well, except for my overflowing bookcases) until a few months ago when a friend from work was moving and sold me this couch and chair. I put them in the unpainted room and never went back in – except to grab a book or work on some jewelry (I set up a card table in the room to work on that stuff!) Anyway – the room has never been used much but now, that it is this warm yummy *terra-cotta* color…. it is very inviting and I’ve been in there almost every evening this week to read or watch tv!
That is really a doorway to the back deck – but I seriously keep a piece of furniture in front of it, using it more like a *window* because it worries me that it is another entry point to the house – that we hardly ever use! Since we hadn’t been actively using the room – I worry that someone could break it and we’d not notice it right away or something….. so, when another coworker offered me that little antique desk for Beebo and Luby (which they LOVE!) I put it smack dab in front of the doorway!
It’s not the prettiest furniture in the world but it is *comfy* and I like having this quiet little place to go read! That’s really unique in this house!
