The Innocence of Youth

It’s funny how we take things for granted. When we first arrived at the condo Saturday evening, the same one we’ve stayed at for the past four annual trips to the beach, my sweet and innocent daughter Beebo looked at this
and said, “What’s that thing? What does it do?”
I laughed and said, “Honey….are you serious? It’s a PHONE.”
She said, “Really?” and picked it up to hear the dial tone. Yes…. she IS my daughter. hahahaha
As if that wasn’t funny enough, later I recounted that phone discussion to both Lena and my MIL. They both laughed and then my MIL went on to tell Beebo how she should have seen the really old phones that were attached to the wall – using her hands to describe the dimensions of it to Beebo – saying they stuck out this far from the wall (gesturing about a 6 inch width of her hands).
Before she’d completed describing it, Beebo’s eyes got big and she said, “You held that up to your ear??”
We all cracked up.

In other news, we immensely enjoyed our first day on the beach. Luby made sure we all stayed for a while:

More later. It’s supposed to be a little rainy and cooler today so we’re probably going SHOPPING!!!
