Things I have learned
Posted by Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Saturday, July 11th, 2009
As you already know, my friend Shannon and her daughter Madison were visiting with us last week. Today she posted about *Things I learned on My Summer Vacation* from her perspective… so I thought I’d do something similar!
- Shannon is a driving machine. I must have made 57 potty/food/gas stops when I drove to Texas last summer with the girls. She made 6. Are you KIDDING me???

- When she says she doesn’t like any dishes left in her sink overnight… that applies to MY sink as well.
- She has the most creative ideas to re-purpose old antique items found while antique shopping. Just wait til she shows you what she does with all the old junk she took home! (*hint, hint*)
- We are complete opposites in many ways – she is organized, I am all over the place; she is determined, I am wavering; she is efficient, I am impractical. But, that being said – we have the BEST time together.

- Madison is the funniest girl! She kept us in stitches much of the time.

- Our daughters and Madison get along very well together. It is such a bonus to know our families can blend together without a hitch.

- My darling Lillie, who can sometimes be tempermental around kids other than my daughters, seemed quite content with Madison around.

- I must have nodded off at least once (or more) during each car trip (not driving, thank goodness), each movie we watched, and each evening as soon as I sat down in my favorite chair with Lillie at my legs. A sign of being *uber-comfortable* with her here…. which means, it didn’t feel like *having company*.

- One of the best parts of her visit was when we were all together – with my sister and my mom and Mr. Lucky’s brothers and his mom. It’s great fun for me to see her just step right into the whole family picture.
Thank you Shannon and Madison for making the LONG trip here.
We loved having you and can’t wait til next time!
