Dear Gillette,
Have you ever just get a thought in your head and it won’t quite go away?
I was standing in Walmart the other day, looking for razor blade refills to purchase when it occurred to me… why is it that razor blades cost so darn much? $19.77 for eight stinkin razor blades? That’s almost $2.48 per blade! Come on…. I’m just going to shave my legs and my pits with it and THROW IT AWAY.
Seriously. What is UP with that??
I can rent two movies at the Redbox and have change left over for the cost of ONE blade!
I really don’t get it. It’s not like I can get more than a few uses out of it (believe me, I have tried! The blades become quite dull and just seem to yank the hairs out of my legs instead of actually cutting them… which is not fun, by the way.) because, whether there are 3 or 4 or 5 blades for closer shaving…. it’s for HAIR removal – it grows back every day, regardless. Maybe if you spent a little less money in the R&D Dept. trying to find more ways to attach gooey aloe or lotion strips to the razor heads, maybe you could reduce the cost of the actual blade – which just happens to be the really IMPORTANT part of the razor.

Beccaon 08 Feb 2010 at 12:57 pm 1That, my friend, is why I have chosen to buy a women’s electric shaver. Yes, you spend a little more upfront, but at the end of the day, I do not miss the knicks and dings and price that is paid with a regular razor. Now if I can just remember to keep it charged!
