Third times charm, right?

It took me three tries to leave the house yesterday.
First time, I made it out to the car and realized I’d forgotten my earrings. Now, I know that sounds SILLY but… my hair was pulled up and I can’t stand seeing *unadorned* ears when my hair is up. So, I go back in and grab a pair off the lamp.
(uh…. ya’ll keep your earrings on the fringe of the lamp, right? No? Really?? Hmmm… ok… well, you should try it!)
I go back out, lock the door and get in the car. I actually put the car in reverse and get to the end of the driveway and remember I had a package to mail. Darn darn darn… where is that? I glance in my purse… no package. I pull back down the drive and run back into the house and grab the package which is sitting right where I set it down when I ran back in to get the earrings… of course.
Ok. I’m ready.
Back to the car, out of the drive and ALL THE WAY TO WORK.
I pull in the parking lot and ding, ding, ding… I think…. *Well now, CRAP! I left my phone charging at home!*
Sheesh.
I sit there a second, weighing the odds. What are the odds I can go all morning without needing my phone? Well, I probably could but….do I WANT to? Ummm no. NO.
Back in the car, speed demon back to the house, run in and grab my phone and back to the office. Thanking my lucky stars that I live so close!
Whew!! I wonder why I’m so tired before the day ever starts!
So now… please tell me I’m not the only one that does this. Anyone?

P.S. The girl with the french manicured acrylic nails that triggered my questions?
She was TWELVE. Twelve years old. I don’t even know what to say after that.

Jenon 11 Dec 2008 at 7:08 am 1You just described my day yesterday! It took me three tries to leave the house too!
And that hand belonged to a 12 year old? That makes me sad. There is wayyy too much pressure on little girls to grow up.
Shannonon 11 Dec 2008 at 7:36 am 2I plead the 5th.
Tracieon 11 Dec 2008 at 7:46 am 3I usually am parking at work when I realize what I forgot, so atleast 2 out of 3 times you where still in the driveway. LOL
For some reason I can’t see the picture. ?
Katon 11 Dec 2008 at 12:04 pm 4Are you trying to say that this is NOT normal? Is that what you are telling me? So you are actually saying that since I do this on a regular, daily basis that I might be actually abnormal? Hmmm…
Rebekahon 11 Dec 2008 at 12:15 pm 5That will be my day today as we get ready to leave for a weekend in KC!!!! (Our 7 yr anniversary is on Monday!)
Beccaon 11 Dec 2008 at 12:43 pm 6Hey at least you didn’t end up sleeping on the sofa! Hope that you had a good day, inspite of your many false starts!
Hugs,

Thotladyon 11 Dec 2008 at 1:22 pm 7I’ll go back once, but that’s it. If I can’t remember it by then, it gets left at home.
You are too funny.
lissaon 11 Dec 2008 at 2:34 pm 8happens to me alot but I usually don’t go back because I’m always too far ahead to do so, just this week I forgot to take my christmas swap present to mail at the post office, three mornings I forget to take with me even when it was sitting right in front of me
Jeanon 11 Dec 2008 at 6:33 pm 9I hate it when I do that.. wears me out!! At least you only had to actually drive back for one! I’d have lived without the phone.. and probably the package!!LOL I’m lazier than I am talkative!
hugs,
Jean
Stacyon 11 Dec 2008 at 6:50 pm 10When I worked closer, I would go back when I had forgotten something. Now if I don’t get it before I leave the complex, then forget it, I have to go without for the day.
Kellyon 11 Dec 2008 at 11:29 pm 11I always remember what I’ve left when I’m at the end of my street. I have a little loop I take around the neighborhood getting back to my house. One morning about a month ago, I had to drive back twice…I just prayed all my neighbors were asleep or didn’t notice.
SCARECROWon 12 Dec 2008 at 10:28 am 12First…the earrings, aside from the fact you hang ‘em on your lamp, you could of just used paper clips at work. That would of solved everything.
The package was probably for someone extemely important, so you needed to go back for that. Then again, maybe not. I’m just saying…
As far as the cell phone goes, remember the day when you didn’t have or need one? Now it’s like leaving a child home.
