This much I know is true

Posted by Dory @ Lucky Dorito on Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Right now, I’m off enjoying myself with Lena…. doing some Christmas shopping and feeling pretty good. But, earlier this week…. actually as recent as yesterday morning – I was a bit of an emotional wreck. There is really no good reason for it – this has just been a long week. We were on the go each evening with something going on, plus I’ve had a series of massive headaches throughout the week that really knocked the wind out of my sails.

Not to mention the fact that I am a lousy medicine-taker and I never took the time to pick up my prescription refills so I ran out of my happy pills several days ago. (Maybe that’s why I had a headache, huh?)

And…. that stupid pinched nerve or whatever is happening in my neck that causes my fingers to go numb towards the end of a long work week, after sitting chairside for many consecutive hours working on my patients. (Or, maybe that contributed to my headache, huh?)

I don’t know what…. but something conspired to make me both weepy and sad and empty.

So when my overly concerned husband made the following speech – I dissolved into a large pile of mush.

He said, “Honey, you are the love of my life. My wife. My best friend. The mother of my children. And I love you. So… you HAVE to take care of yourself.”

And then I had to mop myself up off the floor.

Flash forward about 3 hours. I was driving to meet up with my sister for our big weekend when I heard the following song. Believe me, the tears returned with a vengeance. (It’s really hard to drive with a veil of tears in your eyes, by the way.)

I love you Mr. Lucky. Always and Forever.

What a completely wonderful husband you have. I would have melted also. You are truly blessed.

    I love that song.

I do believe that a lot of this week was coming off of the meds. I have been there and done that and it stinks. Please get your refill and be happy again.

    Love you!

You husband should be called Dr. Heartfixer. Cause it sounds like he fixed yours. I hope that you find lots of bargains!
