We’re here!

You can’t get *close* to New Orleans without taking a few moments to look around, right? We thought we’d spend a little time looking around and then get started back on the road to Texas. We didn’t really factor in just how crowded New Orleans would be though…. which means we actually spent a lot more time there then we’d planned.

What I wouldn’t give to have palm trees lining the streets where I live. I love the way they look. :)

More kudzu. Ok, it might have been english ivy. They both are rampant growing vines that can be like the devil to get rid of once they get a foothold.

We watched this ginormous limo doing a U-turn right in front of us….. cracked me up.

This guy cracked me up too. It was HOT out there…. bless his heart. He was educating everyone about the impending end of the world. Evidently he is on a mission to spread his message but holy cow, it was HOT. His message didn’t crack me up…. his cute little umbrella hat sure did though. :)

You can clearly see how many people there were around. The French Market was an awesome plethora of goodies….. I could have spent a lot longer in there looking around if it hadn’t been so crowded and I hadn’t been so anxious to get on the road again.

I do not know how the paint was not mixing with sweat and dripping off this guy. Can you imagine doing this for a living?

And then we crossed the Mighty Mississippi River and were back on the road to here:

We arrived safe and sound. Shannon had dinner waiting on us… she’s the ultimate hostess, let me tell you. I may never leave. :)
